Come help us out on our gorgeous property and have your own self contained one bedroom apartment to live in! We are looking for some help (lawn care, DIY, painting) around our rural property on the edge of Auckland. Any basic carpentry skills are a bonus! We're open to host an individual or couple. We live on a two hectare property only 30 minutes from the centre of Auckland city central in New Zealand. Available immediately & through summer.

Grace and Johan are an incredibly kind and sweet family, they always made me feel comfortable and welcome. Moreover, they were really flexible, which allowed me to do all the paperwork I needed to work legally in NZ. They also provided me with a bedroom and for most part of my stay I had a bathroom for myself. Spending time with them and Xander, the cutest boy I've met (and of course Tui) has been a pleasure, and I feel really grateful that I cross paths with them. Thank you for everything and I hope you have a great New Year!

Grace and Johan (and little Xander) were so welcoming and friendly. I felt totally comfortable! I had my own private studio which was equipped with everything I needed but I was also welcome to spend time in their big house. They were always approachable for any concerns I might have, including tasks and hours. Thank you for a wonderful first worldpackers experience! 😊 For other people considering this stay I would really recommend having a car because it was sometimes not easy to get places independently, at times when Grace and Johan aren't available to give you a lift.

Grace and Johan are incredibly kind, creating a welcoming atmosphere that truly felt like home, including Joy, their adorable pet. And… Pandaman... the joy of the house, the charming and amusing baby, was an experience I will cherish. Despite my limited knowledge of English, they showed exceptional patience. The flexibility in schedules reflects their openness and kindness. I highly recommend them! I am grateful for the wonderful time shared with this lovely family.

We loved hosting Maria Isabel (Isa). She was especially amazing at helping with our 12 month old. He loves her! She helped with him in mornings and evenings, playing with him and feeding him etc. However she was also great at helping with other tasks on the property. We were building a fence one day, and she jumped in to help. She's great at thinking ahead and being proactive. We definitely recommend Isa :)

We had the most amazing time with Grace, Johan, Tui and little Xander. It was above expectations. They were really helpful with our personal matters and so flexible so we could have the perfect schedule. We could not have hoped for a better first experience with worldpackers then with them. We got to see a glimpse of the everyday life of a young Kiwi family whos life had been turned upside down with home repairs and restructuring. It was our pleasure to help them to give them back their living space and for Xander to have a place he can call home.

We really enjoyed having Mark and Gerli at our place! They were so helpful, and worked hard. Mark had some extra skills when it came to building which was great, and Gerli was also great at getting in there and doing any jobs that needed doing, whether it was painting, gardening or building. They were also both really lovely with our 12 month old and he loved playing with both of them. They're easy to get on with and they work hard, we definitely recommend them if you have the opportunity to host them.
